Jason's interest in the Web began in graduate school. While completing a Master's degree in Archaeology at Cornell University, Jason worked with the developers of the Cornell Halai and East Lokris Project Web site, as well as designing and maintaining a class Web site for a course in which he was a teaching assistant. Upon leaving Cornell, Jason took a job as an Internet Trainer with WestLake Internet Training, where he brought his teaching experience to bear on the new and exciting prospects of the Web. While with WestLake, Jason mastered JavaScript, DHTML, ASP, ColdFusion, and XML, and developed and presented customized Web Technology seminars to clients such as NASDAQ, The Smithsonian Institution, The National Academy of Sciences, and The National Institutes of Health. In addition to teaching hundreds of classes on subjects as diverse as Information Architecture, Dynamic HTML, XML and XSL, Jason became a Senior Training Manager in the Washington, DC and Arlington, VA offices. As Director of Curriculum, he wrote 14 courses for WestLake and co-wrote or revised 15 others, and oversaw a fluid staff of trainers and specialists. Since leaving WestLake in January 2001, Jason has used his programming, technical writing, design and presentation skills to help a diverse group of clients including WestLake, the Estco Technology Group, Tablas Creek Vineyard, Paso Robles Physical Therapy, WingSwept Communications, Helms & Company (Betsy Nicoletti), Capitol Hill Bikes, and Rebecca Haas Jewelry.
