End Zone Offense
Once we are close to the end zone, we move to a variation
of the center-stack offense. This is keyed by an audible “End Zone” which both
cools people down and lets everyone know that they’re in the critical zone.
To run end zone:
Initial Setup
- Stack in the middle of the end zone. Stack can be slightly angled
so that the front of the stack is close to in front of the disc.
- Handlers in front, Mids/Deeps set up in the back of the end zone
(the very back of the end zone).
- There is no dump.
- When you call “end zone” in flow, there is usually some chaos
(or else you wouldn’t have called it). In this case, you look first for a swing.
- Off a stopped disc or a well-formed stack, the first cut is a
scoring cut to the near cone.
The Cuts
- The scoring cut is from the back of the stack to the near-side front cone.
Ignore the force.
- Cutters should run full-speed, without juking, directly to the front cone.
Never break off this cut.
- Run through any poach.
- The reset is the handler in the front of the stack to the wide
side of the field.
- Continue from the back of the stack to the opposite-side front
cone.
